One way is at sleeping-feet
One way is in the ferriage
One way is on the feather
Mother I know all the way
Day stops beneath the tree
Night haults at the fairy-house
The light ascends through the staircase
Mother I can execute all light-rays
This sky grinds very often
That sky overwhelms with cloud
In another sky the ferry is unloosen
Mother I am the starry sky
Mother I’ve a lake full of water
The whole village is overflown…

মূল কবিতাঃ
এক পথ ঘুমন্তের পায়ে
এক পথ নৌকার পারানি
এক পথ পালকের গায়ে
মা আমি সমস্ত পথ জানি
দিন থামে গাছের তলায়
রাত্রি থামে পরীদের বাড়ি
সিঁড়ি দিয়ে আলো উঠে যায়
মা আমি সমস্ত আলো পারি
এ আকাশ ভাঙে মাঝে মাঝে
ও আকাশ মেঘে আত্মহারা
সে আকাশে নৌকা খোলা আছে
মা আমি আকাশভরা তারা
মা আমার এক দীঘি জল
সারা গ্রাম করে ছলোচ্ছল…
‘পোড়ামুখী, দু চক্ষের বিষ
ফের তুই প্রেমে পড়েছিস ?’
